I walk through the valley of man’s greed
the river is long gone and its bed is dry
a red sun evaporates every tear I cry
before they can drop and water the weed
no man shall live like this not now nor ever
yet water is scarce and with it our lives
between our end and us it’s one roll of dice
one unlucky draw between today and never
we’ve sold our souls for a handful of cash
yet you can’t drink it nor take a bite
now to calm my thirst I’ll have to fight
another thirsty man I’ll have to bash
burn fires far away fall ashes from the sky
over us our mother cries torrential tears
her pain brings alive our worse of fears
her pain reminds us that without her we die
