the people have spoken agitators have risen
fomenting their ideas of hatred and fear
the time is now ripe the ignorance is sheer
to redefine a country into an open prison
ill-mannered demagogues by bigots elected
pointing the finger at least fortunate strata
as nobody cares about statistics nor data
this generation new old foes has created
by lies and deception it has put the blame
on who has nothing else but their pain
if they are to lose then we are to gain
think those who see life as a zero-sum game
these fascists are new their manners are old
in front of a keyboard eager to offend
they wish not to or cannot understand
the hardships of hunger thirst and cold
as a water drop hollows out the stone
repetition weights on the weak mind
impotent to look further evidence to find
like a dog snapping at the nearest bone
as these dogs gather they become a pack
beginning to dare what alone they would not
their actions and thoughts by rancor fraught
against anyone they deem worthy to attack
