why

because you took my hand and led me
where I had never been before
a place I thought unreachable
that I had long been longing for

 

because with you we find the way
together we overcome fears
both our hearts afraid to suffer
the shedding of too many tears

 

because of the fire in us
under a freezing sky we’re warm
embraced we stay awake all night
soothing each other’s inner storm

 

because we talk without speaking
when in the dark our hands meet
we dream as one good and bad dreams
entangled are our heads and feet

 

because when your skin touches mine
the worlds outside the room dissolve
dazed by the thrill and by your smell
I spin and around you revolve

 

because today you’ll sleep till late
like every other day together
and we won’t care what day it is
nor will we care about the weather

 

because your strength inspires me
and we will be strong for each other
you filled the empty in my chest
besides you there is no another

 

because I gazed into your soul
and deep in it I saw my home
now I can fall into your arms
